Will Obama take the stem cell road less traveled?

President-elect Obama's first four year term will surely start with billions earmarked for what will never help anyone, but will enrich his constituency---embryonic stem cell research.

Those of you who consider him a god, should remember he is merely a politician who owes a debt to the multi-million dollar embryonic lobby. That organization's only goal is to grab taxpayer's money and to make sure little or none of it is wasted on Adult Stem Cells. Because Adult Stem Cells actually improve people's lives they might embarrass the embryonic lobby which will never, NEVER help anyone but themselves and their powerful friends.

We should try to help the Obama staff with scientific facts. We need allies who know what we know. We shall point out that Osiris, using stem cell science, intends to finish clinical trials for two diseases in 2010 and get the products to market to help people, while no clinical trials are even being considered for any embryonic science, nor will they ever be. It will be interesting to see if any lobby can prevent approval of Osiris's life-saving therapies---for the public has been cleverly brainwashed to believe that which works does not and that which does not work "holds the most promise."

We shall point to other companies such as Bioheart, also in clinical trials, who are ready to bring help to victims of "untreatable diseases." We must make sure both the White House and the congress knows it.

It is possible that Obama will do exactly what the Governor of California did----kill efforts to help people with Adult Stem Cells so he could make sure his embryonic-profiteering friends waste every American's tax money on what cannot possibly work. Or perhaps Obama will actually care about sick people and use half the money to help them instead of his political friends. We can never stop using our overwhelming scientific advantage for people who need it. We shall continue to embarrass the enemy with science, bringing the message to all who will listen. The enemy has tens of millions, we merely have the truth - that thousands of patients have been successfully treated with Adult Stem Cells in Asia, and elsewhere, and most have regained a quality of life they thought they had lost forever. We can only hope that the White House wakes up before it is too late.
